To ensure guaranteed operation and minimal cost, we've specified the use of a Raspberry Pi 4B with 4 GB RAM. If you have a different model (e.g., a Pi 4B 8 GB), it's likely to work similarly. You can try using it, however, we can't guarantee optimal performance compared to the intended uses. The Raspberry Pi 5, with its different architecture, hasn't been tested yet. We'll update the specifications as soon as we've conducted conclusive tests.

No, the camera we've selected meets specific qualitative criteria to provide a scientifically and visually acceptable result. It's not impossible that in the future, other cameras may be added to the list of compatible components.

No, the Sunscan has been developed independently with a new optical design and therefore new specific optics.

No, it is not possible to use the Sunscan without a smartphone or tablet. The Sunscan is designed as an all-in-one, autonomous, and portable device. This design choice ensures a user-friendly experience and maintains the portability and independence of the system. The mobile app is an integral part of the Sunscan's functionality, providing the necessary controls and data visualization features for optimal use of the SpectroHeliograph.
