An open-source project based on DIY

The SUNSCAN is an open-source project based on the “do it yourself” (DIY) concept. Everything is designed to help you succeed, without obstacles or complications. You don't need any special optical, mechanical or computer skills, or sophisticated technical equipment. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are the only keys to success.

Estimated Assembly Time

Estimated assembly time for the SUNSCAN may vary according to your pace and experience. We've tried to provide an estimate based on the most accurate elements possible, but please bear in mind that this may vary.

  • Total printing time :

    • Prusa MK3-S printer: Approx. 30 hours.

    • Bambulab printer: Approx. 18 hours.

  • Time to assemble housing with optics: Approx. 1 hour.

  • Raspberry Pi and camera installation time: Approx. 1 hour.

  • Time to assemble adjust optics: Approx. 1 hour.

Taking these steps into account, the average overall assembly time is around 30 hours. All assembly steps are described in detail and illustrated on the following pages. We'll guide you through each phase to help you assemble your SUNSCAN successfully.
